Charles Frederick Pretor-Pinney DSO60 - a Lieutenant Colonel in the 13th Battalion, Rifle Brigade, died on Saturday 28 Apr 1917 at the age of 53 and is memorialized in grave VI. Frederick was the son of Frederick and Emma Pinney, of 3, Holmedale, Sidmouth as well as the husband of Louisa Jane Pinney, of 9, West View, Newtown, Sidmouth, Devon.

 

Henry Albert Pinney60 - a Lance Corporal in the 7th Battalion of the The Queen's Royal West Surrey Regiment G/1375, died on Saturday 01 Jul 1916 at the age of 23 and is memorialized at grave 1914. IV. O. 4. In Dantzig Alley British Cemetery, Mametz, Somme, France. Henry was the son of Henry and Sarah Pinney, of 15, Nether Hall Rd. Doncaster and was born at Sheffield.

John also was an observer with the Royal Flying Corps from Nov. 1914, to June, 1915. John is also memorialized in Kemerton Parish62, Worcestershire: "To the Glory of God and in ever loving memory of John Charles William Adderley Pinney Lieut. 38th K.G.O. Central India Horse, late 1st Bn Royal Fusiliers, Born 31st March 1896 - who fell 1st December 1917 in the Battle of Cambrai while leading his Squadron in a dismounted attack on the Kildare trench, south east of Villers Guislain An observer with the Royal Flying Corps in France from 12th November 1914 to June 1915 'and they shall be mine saith the Lord of Hosts in that day when I make up my jewels' Mal. III 17"
